The pepper in the sauce is of course that Schneider - as a major shareholder in and supplier of designs to Skoda of Pilsen - allowed this model 1939 gun to be built by Skoda, when that last company had come already under German control since the occupation of Bohemia.
I suppose the deal was made before september 1939, when France, Schneider's mothercountry - found itself at war with Germany.
Equally spicy is the assumption that Germany allowed Skoda to produce Schneider models for export.
In 1938-39 the Schneider-Skoda arrangements simply continued under German control?
