I’m liking my hair today. I’m still getting used to the natural texture of it, but I’m coming around. I really don’t miss it straight as much as I miss a consistent texture. Naturally it just kind of does its own thing and some days that can look good and some days it can look not so good. Today it feels VERY soft and is a bit fluffier than usual – and I like that. I decided to wash my whole length last night instead of doing a CWC and I must’ve had some leave-in buildup because today my ends feel lighter and softer. I decided to try Redken’s All Soft ‘poo and masque since I had a sample of each. They didn’t have much smell to them (a bad thing when you’re used to Lush products!), but the shampoo didn’t seem to strip my hair. The masque didn’t give me as much slip as I thought it would, so I followed with Lush’s American Cream (I usually put it on my hair last since I LOVE the smell). After rinsing and getting out of the shower, I added Phyto Systeme’s Rosemary, Sage & Willow Infusing Balm. I really like this stuff and it’s too bad it was discontinued. Then, I air dried. I went to bed with my hair still damp. I thought about pony curls or braiding it, but the humidity here lately is so high that it’s really a waste of time. So I got up this morning and it was in its slightly irregular wavy state. I misted it with distilled water to try to bring out any waves that might want to come out, but once I comb or brush it, they all but disappear.
I don’t have enough wave or curl to NOT comb or brush it, unfortunately. I’m actually wearing it down today, parted on the side, but it’ll probably be pulled back by lunchtime. I did add a little of Kiehl’s Cream with Silk Groom to my length before walking out the door, so my hair feels quite moisturized. For the first time since I can remember, I didn’t add jojoba and a shea butter leave-in to my damp hair after washing. Thought it was test time to see how it does without it for a change.
I’m in the mood to order some leather slides today. Mine are too small for updos and I have my eye on these two: "BARRHS" here:
