What a crazy busy weekend with not enough down time - but necessary, sigh... We closed on my sister's condo on Friday and I spent most of Saturday helping my sister move the last remnants of her stuff out. Up and down a lot of stairs and then running up to her new place. I wore my hair in a figure 8 bun the whole time so it would be out of the way and it worked just great and was very comfortable (and I like the way it looks as well!). I used two hair sticks as I usually do, and it stayed up fine all day. I am so happy to actually be USING all the hair sticks I've collected the last two years.
After finishing up there I ran home so that Mike and I could go for a bike ride on his Harley since it was his birthday and I didn't have time to make him a cake (

). He'd stayed at home to work on the addition he's building onto my house, so was ready to take a ride since the weather was perfect with virtually no humidity (a rarity for us in the summer). I braided my hair and tucked it into my shirt when the speed picked up and it didn't get tangled at all.
Sunday we both went to the condo and started tearing the place apart, pulling up carpet and ripping out screens. (I wore my hair in a ponytail with a ball cap since it was getting dirty at the scalp). I took a lot of "before" pictures of the condo and it's going to be awesome when Mike has finished in there. Then, we'll put it on the market. It's on a lake with a beautiful view so we just might have to use it as a mini-vacation place before we sell it.
We finally got home around 7:00, after taking another bike ride while the weather was so beautiful. We had some watermelon and then it was time to wash my hair. I wanted to use something different and pulled out some of my old AO stuff. I ended up using Island Natural Shampoo (

I guess it had been at least 6 months. But wow, it's a different story now with a different drying method, and I like them a LOT. My hair feels super-dooper soft and less frizzy. That might partly be because I put it in a high bun while slightly damp before going to bed, but I think the products made a difference as well. And the smell is just wonderful. I keep sniffing my hair. It looked so nice this morning that I'm wearing it down for work. I guess I do that maybe on day a week these days, so it's special.
I do believe I have overcome my public updo fear.

I've been wearing them probably 75% of the time and am really enjoying them. On Friday afternoon when Mike and I were going to close on the condo, I was getting ready to take my hair down from my figure 8 and he asked what I was doing. I said that I knew he liked my hair better down, so I thought I'd take it down since it was Friday and the weekend was upon us. He said I didn't need to do that because he didn't mind it at all. That was nice hear because I thought he hated it up. Maybe it's growing on him.

Of course, I still like to wear it down too for me as well as for him.
My hair is shinier than ever and I attribute that to my new shower filter.
