I can't believe it's Thursday already. The weekend is almost here and Mike and I have decided to take Saturday off. We need a day off together. I told him about a big bead show here in town and he's game to go with me. Yay! I've been wanting to make some earrings and maybe a bracelet or two until I can get back into my silversmithing classes (something I plan to pursue once the addition is complete and we can clear out the jewelry studio). Beading isn't the same thing as working with silver and soldering, etc., but I think it can all go together well enough and it can let me at least create some things in the meantime. So, instead of looking through catalogs and browsing online, I'll be able to see the beads up close and hold them - and I just hope I don't go bead crazy... lol... I did break down and order some beads from ebay the other day and they are just gorgeous. I will make earrings out them as soon as I get some silver findings and beads to set them off.

After the bead show, we're going to the condo to check it out and see what needs to be done next. Then, we're going to walk around the lake that is right behind it. It's a very peaceful setting and we kind of wish we could keep the place. The lake is big enough to look beautiful, but small enough to not allow motorized boats on it - so it's quiet. We like that. There are geese and ducks and huge turtles and a nice walking path all the way around the lake.

Then, we'll go out to dinner and have our Saturday night date night.

I got my hair "blonded" last night and that went well. I actually got a wonderful compliment from the girl (she couldn't have been more than 22) who washed my hair. She said, "You have the most beautiful hair I've ever seen." !!! Wow, now THAT is a compliment. She must not see that much long hair because though I like my hair okay, it's not "the most beautiful" by any stretch of the imagination. But it was still great to hear and I accepted her compliment with a big grin.

Today I'm wearing my hair all down parted on the side, even though it's not quite as smooth as I like it. I got some funky bends in it from going to bed with it a little damp last night and they don't want to completely go away. I misted with distilled water quite a bit, so it looks acceptable. I've not worn my hair down all week though, so I just wanted to today. I do like wearing it up lately, but down is good too. I like options.

I've noticed that since I've stopped using the blow dryer altogether (stopped about two months ago) that my ends are MUCH better. I usually check them on the way home from work if I'm stuck in traffic, and use some little hair scissors in case I see any I want to snip off. Used to be that I'd find all kinds of splits and explosions and funky looking bent hairs. Nowadays I have to really hunt to find any damage. So, I reckon that using the dryer even on barely warm must've been hard on my hair. Maybe it wasn't so much the heat as it was the constant scrunching it when I wanted it wavier and the pulling it straight with a brush when I wanted it straight. Now when I air dry, the most I do is turn my head upside down to fluff it up a bit to get air in between the hair, but that's IT. So, my dryer is collecting dust and my hair is getting better!
