What a beautiful day today! And, how disappointing that Mike and I canceled our weekend trip to Asheville, North Carolina to celebrate our two years together. With Ivan coming through, it was predicted that the weekend would be full of wind and rain here
and in Asheville. So, Thursday night when we were in the midst of fierce wind and rain, we called to cancel our reservation. Shortly after that our electricity went out and we spent the evening in candle light.
Perhaps it was the best thing that we canceled since we desperately need to continue our work on the remodeling. I’d planned to take Friday off for our weekend celebration, and since the power was still not back on Friday morning, decided I’d still take the day off. Mike and I ran all over – picking out paint for the walls, looking for the perfect stove for me so we can put the current one (which I dislike vehemently!) in the condo, light fixtures, ceiling fans, grout for the tile… oh, the list goes on and on. It was an exhausting day, but we got a lot done.
We got home and Mike said he needed to run out to pick up some wine and returned with some flowers and a card.

Here is a picture of the flowers, which I adore (and Miko checking them out):
You can’t really see the colors of the flowers too well in the sunlight, so here is a close-up:
I’m not much for roses, as Mike knows, so these are perfect. The card is really cute. I have to show the front of it because it suits us so well... that’s him and me and my kitty.
I always liked Mary Engelbreit’s drawings.
I’d given him a card that I’d made first thing in the morning because I couldn’t wait!
We are both working today – me at home - him at his work, and this evening we’re going out for our two-year celebration dinner and will toast many more years together.
Tomorrow - both of us back to the condo and more painting for me! Here is a picture I like of Mike in one of the rooms we're working on:
Not sure why I like it except that he's just looking like him... being a perfectionist and checking out his work.
Hair related stuff is minimal. I’ve got a lot of jojoba oil in my length right now and will wash before going out tonight. Not sure how I’ll wear my hair. I want to do a deep heat treatment tomorrow, so I might be washing two days in a row, which I
never do these days. Been too busy to fiddle much with experiments and new 'dos, but am enjoying my hair immensely.
And now, I must get busy!
