I had a great weekend.

On Saturday I got a substantial trim. John cut off 3.5 inches, just as I requested, and then tapered up the sides to get a decent trim on my shorter side pieces. They never get trimmed and just looked sparse and thin. In the after pictures, my hair is straight just for a change (and because I didn't want to leave with my hair wet since I had a date with Mike), but I prefer it the way I'm wearing today - wavy. My hair is short enough now to bring out the waves I like so much; I much prefer them to the blown straight look.

I need to take a few shots of how I actually wear it since I won't be blow drying it like above. The cut was short enough to not be traumatic at all, though a couple of "fans" didn't want me to cut it (and you know who you are ).

I actually had some free time this weekend and Mike and I spent Sunday together in the mountains riding around and looking at the beautiful scenery. Stopped by the little pottery shop I like and bought a mug, ate at a little country store and just enjoyed being together NOT working on a house or condo. We didn't get home until almost 7:00. I wore my hair down all day and didn't get tangles (and no, we weren't on his Harley). It was great.

We're thinking about becoming vegetarians. I don't eat red meat at all, but Mike does, so I was surprised when he suggested it. He's good at doing things he puts his mind to, so we'll see. I would be very happy to quit eating birds and fish and should have done it a long time ago. I picked up some of my vegetarian cookbooks from my old house and will be looking for some recipes to start experimenting with. While Mike is out of town this week, I'll make the spaghetti I like with whole wheat noodles and eggplant in the sauce. I need to start making my own bread again... soon!
