I finally found some fabric I actually like! Most of the fabric stores around here have your typical wedding dress fabric and a lot of nice fabrics for blouses and sleepwear, but I couldn't find anything for the dress I wanted to make. I ended up going to a store called Frugal Fabrics that carried a
lot of upholstery fabric. They had
wonderful fabrics that I will probably use to make us some curtains and pillows and even a bedspread. I was drooling over the beautifully textured fabrics!
Here is what I ended up getting:
And, here it is with the trim, though this trim is impossible to catch accurately on film. These look more like it than the first picture though.
The trim is so much prettier than it shows here. The fabric is a kind of micro-suede with swirl embroidering on it. It's got great drape and will be wonderful for an autumn wedding.
Also, here are a couple of shots of the shoes - that show more detail than the picture from Zappos (where I got them):
Maybe you can see the sparklies on them that I am thinking about removing. But today I'm kind of liking them.
Got to run! Will post the pattern I'm going to use soon.
