What a busy weekend!
My dress is all but finished. All that’s left to do is hem it and make the belt - and maybe add some stitching around the neck area. Here are a couple of pictures. The first shows part of one of the upper sleeves, and the second one shows part of the lacing on the back. Both were hand-stitched to the dress since it just worked out better that way. The stitches aren't perfect, but it’s quite secure!
And, here are a couple of pictures of the purse I made for the wedding day:
I didn’t have a pattern and it seemed silly to buy one since it was just draw-string bag. I just used the fabrics from my dress and bought some trim, cording and “tails” (that I added to the drawstrings) – and it turned out quite well.
I’m drying some flowers from a bouquet that Mike gave me just before he left for Germany a few weeks ago (it was a “don’t be sad while I’m gone” bouquet

) and will add them to my wedding bouquet this weekend.
I’m so glad I have a three-day weekend coming up. I’ll be able to make Mike’s shirt (which is
much easier than my dress!), belt, hair wreath and his boutonnière. Then I’m finished!
Fox made me the
prettiest wedding hair sticks! She knows I’m going to wear my hair down, but made them for me anyway, and they are soooo beautiful. Here are some pictures:
And here, you can kind of see how well they go with my wedding earrings, which I'm wearing in the picture:
I’m trying to figure out how I can incorporate them with my hair and wreath on the wedding day. I have to do a “test run” on my hair, so will be fooling around with that this weekend too.
Just 21 more days!
