Mike and I went to Chattanooga, Tennessee this past weekend just for fun since it's October and beautiful and the leaves are starting to change. We went to the big aquarium there...

where we saw lots of fish and animals...

Atlanta will have the largest aquarium in the world opening this month, but I'd never been to an aquarium before and wanted to check out the one in Chattanooga. Some of the environments seems a bit small for their inhabitants, but everyone appeared active and happy. There were some beautiful jellyfish that we marveled over - who seemed to be emmiting electricity and light. They were tiny and so intricate and delicate looking. The butterfly house was humid and fun and the butterflies flitted about seeminingly without a care - landing on people as easily as a bush or twig.

On Sunday we went to Rock City. I'd seen the black and white "See Rock City" signs on barns roofs all over the South since I was a kid.

So I decided I finally wanted to see what it was all about. It was actually quite cool. There are all kinds of huge natural rock formations that you walk under, through and between. We had the best time going through "fat man squeeze," under the massive "balanced rock" and across the swinging bridge to Lover's Leap. Mike, being the rock collector that he is, was freed from the pressures of rock collecting because these were boulders - and more - so he couldn't pick them up - lol!

We crossed the swinging bridge to Lover's Leap and viewed seven states! Here is Mike on the swinging bridge:

And me, on Lover's Leap (with the sun in my eyes):

And here are some autumn leaves in Rock City:

The weather was perfect and we had a great time. When we walked out of the park, there was a leather vendor and Mike bought me a woven leather hair slide. It's the only slide I have that actually stays in my hair without first putting it into a ponytail. I like it! Here is a picture:
