I use Paint Shop Pro 6.1 and Adobe Photoshop 5.5 for my actual painting. I prefer PSP because of its ease of use. Photoshop is better for shading and such. I highly recommend PSP 6.1 to anyone interested in graphic design type work because of its ease of use. You really dont need to know much to figure it out. If you play around with it for a little while you'll be able to do whatever you desire.
It takes anywhere from 6 - 14 hrs per car. Some go much quicker but i have had a few cars that took up to 18 hrs to complete. I can however do 2 - 3 per day if im really in the mood. The new Nascar season starts next weekend so ill prolly be making some more skins in the coming days. I have spent alot more time making skins than i actually have playing the game. I normally play Sports Car GT exclusively.
I get most if not all of my Nascar logos from http://www.jayski.com
but if i cant find what i need there i visit Nascar.com or the cars sponsor homepage. Most of my logo's are found online but if i cant find sumpin i need online i have a friend of mine scan one one for me.
The cars i have on this site were done with a Logitech trackball mouse. Up until 2 weeks ago it was the most accurate mouse i had ever used. I now own a Microsoft Explorer Intellimouse, it doesnt use a ball of any sort. It has a little eye built into the bottom that actually reads the surface of whatever you move it across. It even works on a mirror. Its silver and the base glows red. It is by far the most accurate mouse i have used as of yet and is very accurate in paint programs and gaming.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask....;)....Toucan
