We have been discussing this at work last week.
There is a significant shortage of skilled IT engineers in PNG. This gap is continually being filled by Indians and Filipinos that are "certified" however their performance at work is suspect...i.e. olsem ol man in nogat certification.
This is a shout out to all PNG IT graduates local and overseas to put an extra effort into getting industry accredited certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, Redhat, HP hardware, IBM Hardware, Citrix and Vmware so we can fill in the gaps.
Come on guys, maski long spak tumas, our degrees is not enough! Arise Kumuls!

its all good and well to be technically proficient with all the certificates/accreditations under the sun...but we must do things for ourselves i.e entrepreneurship..be creative otherwise we will always be monkeys paid peanuts..and be 'boys' serving ol 'masta' 4eva...

Maski giaman nambaut, doing an instructor led training and getting a certificate is not being certified.
On the increase also are people that cheat and get their certification but have never put a system together.
