I am 36 yrs old male , I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. I am on several waiting lists in Brisbane hospitals to see specialists and further treatment etc etc, the waiting and not knowing what is going to happen is killing me more than the cancer.
Anyone out there had any experience with this?
Can you offer advice etc etc..

My sympathies,
you are rather young to have this males only affliction.
My advise to you is to compile a list of questions, and interrogate your specialist first. Some questions may be unable to be answered until after the operation.
1. Has the cancer spread to anywhere else? (metastisized)
2. Prognosis for after the operation.
3. Will the operation affect my sex-life?
It is not abnormal for you to lose the ability to get an erection after a prostate operation. However, help is available there. The "Bionic Dick" operation will take care of that problem.
Explore all of these possibilities, and get all the information you can. Knowledge is power. Be in charge of your life. Make your own decisions, do not let any doctor persuade you to undergo any proceedure, that you are not informed about, and have not decided on. They may be the specialists, but it is your body, and you have to live in it, not them.
Fear only comes from lack of knowledge. Once you are fully informed, you can look forward to undergoing whatever proceedure is necesssary, to alleviate your problems.
Regards......Ralph.

Are you sure you have prostate cancer? You are too young. How is cancer diagnosed? Is it diagnosed thru prostate biopsy? Ask your doctor what are the posibility false positive?

It is about an alternative cancer treatment. It is inspiring and makes sense. Even if you are not much into natural therapies this is a harmless approach and there's nothing to lose by giving it a go. knowledge of your condition is empowerment, and i do believe a positive attitude towards cancer treatment contributes hugely to its cure.
