Headache when hungry.

I have two problems;

1. When I do not have time to eat or anything to eat, my head aches.

2. When I do not eat in a day, I lose weight suddenly.

Is that a problem for any of these two problems?

Expert's advice needed.

Anon,
you need to get your blood-sugar levels checked.

Your blood-sugar level could be dropping right down when you don't eat. This could mean that you are a borderline diabetic. See your doctor for a checkup.

Regards......Ralph.

Diabetes

Wantok,

I agree with Ralf in what he's saying. Diabetes is a condition in which the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to break down glucose to release into the blood (Type 2) or when the pancreas does not produce insulin at all (Type 1) so the person will have to rely on daily insulin injections.

Symptoms: frequent thirst & urination, vision decreasing, thrust infections and weight loss. _Do you have these symptoms?_

Management: eat well (low GI diet) and excercise and have regular blood sugar level (BSL) checks

People at risk;
- over 30 and overweight
- overweight teenagers
- pregnant women
- strong family history of diabetes

Hope this helps you in identifying your problem. Like Ralf said, you need a medicial exam stat.

Goodluck!

Thanks Ralph and KND.
I do have regular checks but no media problems. I wonder if this is natural. Also, if I don't eat for a day, my eyes would sink and I could feel that there is weight loss suddenly. It's freakin' weird.

I had this since I was 10 or even before that and now I'm into 30s. I'm not overweight and none of the above mentioned signs occur to me accept the headache, weight loss and the sinking of the freakin' eyes. I sometimes feel bad about myself. I we were put into a concentration camp, I would be the first to die. Honestly speaking.

Thanks.

Wantok

A few questions

Wantok,

When you say that 'you dont eat for a day', does that mean you dont eat for 24 hours? Coz if this is so then your condition is not wierd, what you're doing to you body is wierd by deprieving it of food.

Also when you say ur 'eyes sink in', do you mean they sink in and then recover after you eat?

Cheers

I don't mean 24 hours but no breakfast becoz busy and maybe not much lunch till afternoon towards dinner.

Sinking of the eyes in a sense that they recover after a day or two when I eat.

funny me

Wantok,
I think you've trained your body already not to skip a meal so it expects you to at least have something for every meal. When that expectation is not met it makes you sick so I suggest you keep on eating at every meal time. I do have a similar problem when I skip meals but not headache. What I experience is the feeling of fullness or bloating in my tummy and sometimes constipation when I miss meals so to prevent that I have to eat at least someting every meal.

hi there,
I think your body is normal and healthy coz mine is doing the same when I starve myself by skipping meals. All I know is that I have a metabolism system that can not function well without my normal meals. If you eat normal then you don't face those problems and for me I take that as being healthy and normal.
