Wild Take Game 3by (Login WilmotWild) |
The Wild, or Willies, forced a game 4 this Thursday night at the Wimot Recration Complex with a big win last night in Georgetown. With their backs to the wall for the first time in these playoffs, the Wildmen showed character, discipline and grit by taking the game on foreign soil.
After a 1-1 draw at the end of the first period, the Wild opened it up with a 4 goal 2nd frame to take a 5-2 lead to the room after two periods. The Wild appeared to have the game in hand when enter...the comeback. Halton was able to close the gap to 7-6 but could get no closer making this the final score. Both teams showed the deapth of their rosters by each having 6 different goal scorers. It is very difficult to defend against teams who have such diverse offences as each team is finding out during this series.
Game time is 8pm and yes...Bellzy's will be on hand serving up their World Famous Pulled Pork Sandwiches (and brown pops of course!) I know they are not as World Famous as the $1 hot dogs of another team but give it a couple years and it might just contend for the title of best food deal at a lacrosse game. (c'mon Messer, you and Gary could make the trip)
We had an awesome crowd on Monday night pushing the 300 mark and we are hoping to fill to capacity come Thursday. With most of the leagues winding down, this could be your last chance to see high level lacrosse this summer. Get out and get their early to avoid the rush at the door come game time. Don't forget to get your frisbees and 50/50 too.
