Its that time of year again folks. The 2011 CUFLA season kicks off with a Bang at the Great Canadian Lax Bash hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University on September 18th. Come on out to University Stadium in Waterloo for a great day filled with exciting action on the field. This edition of the Lax Bash features 4 games sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.
The day begins with the WLU Goldenhawks taking on their rivals from Laurentian University at 10am. These two teams have played some very competitive games over the past 3 seasons and this year should be no different, with both teams looking to make a playoff appearance in 2011.
At 12:30 Knight-Newbrough field will play host to a rematch of last year`s Baggataway Cup championship game as the Brock Badgers look to avenge their loss to the McMaster Marauders in what was a close battle from start to finish.
For the first time in its history, the lax bash will feature a women`s game. At 3pm the OUA champion Wilfrid Laurier Goldenhawks Women`s Lacrosse Team takes on the 2 time defending NJCAA champions from Monroe Community College in an exhibition match. This is sure to be a very entertaining display of skill and should not be missed.
Finally at 6pm will be the last game of the day between University of Guelph and Western under the lights on Knight-Newbrough field at University Stadium. These two teams finished at the top of the West division in 2010 and are sure to provide a full game of excitement for the crowd.
Admission is 8 dollars for the day, so come on down to the beautiful University Stadium on September 18th to catch a full Sunday of great lacrosse for the equivalent of 2 dollars a game.
