The Green Gaels will be looking to start the season 2 - 0 on Thursday night when the Mississauga Tomahawks travel to the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex for an 8PM start time.
Mississauga will be looking to bounce back from their opening night loss to the Newmarket Saints by a score of 18 - 12. Tyler Leblanc was the offensive star for the Tomahawks in his first game for the club scoring 5 goals and 1 assist in the losing effort that also featured a bench clearing brawl.
The Green Gaels are coming off a 20 - 8 win over a young Mimico squad in the Gaels home opener on Sunday, April 29th. Leading the way for the Gaels were Dylan Goddard, who continued his 2011 form with 2 goals and 7 assists, Brett Lewandowsky, who had four goals and one assist on transition along with the Player of the Game Award, while both Luke Laskiewicz and Austin Shanks provided plenty of offence from the left side of the floor.
The Gaels worked hard defensively this week in practice in efforts to continue their winning ways against the Tomahawks. Last season the Gaels won both regular season games, as well as the three first round playoff games the teams played.
Tickets for the game are $7 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, while children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
