The forth team were away against Woking and started Saturday with the return of Steve Coates and Harry Penn.

The first half hour was well matched with neither team creating any good chances for a goal until a long ball over the top and a six yard box scuffle saw Harry Penn poke one away in the bottom corner, First of the day for the fourths and Harry’s first of the season. 15 minutes to go and Woking’s striker broke away down the wing only to be met by the old faithful Colin Pratt who cleared for a throw on. An early throw and a flick on to Woking’s midfielder who shot on target but was collected easy by the strong hands of Mickey Frost.
A quick throw out from Mickey to the feet of Andy Short who with a sweet little knock on to Steven Coates saw Steven put one over the top for Lee Digby to run on to, he hit a screamer but unfortunately it was straight at the keeper. FIRST HALF 1 – 0 to LAMMAS

With no drinks or even water to wet their whistles the fourths returned to the game with one thing in mind………….The Pub.

The second half was slow starting with a lot of misses from Lee Digby and Pete from Ash who is yet to get on the score sheet so far this season, On came Math The Hammer who terrorised the Woking defence creating a few chances.
With 15 mins to go Dave Hill put a well weighted ball over the Woking back four for Digby to sneak in behind and tuck away the second, straight after Woking lost possession to Rory Butlers challenge, Rory hit the ball down the line for the head less chicken Math Harrison who collected well cut inside the Woking defence and smashed home a peach for The Fourths 3rd and final goal of the day.

3 – 0 LAMMAS HIP HIP HURAY…………. YOU HAD TO BE THERE TO GET THAT!

MOM – Steven Coates

The fourths undeserved 2 – 1 defeat against Shottermill

The fourths went out half hearted after an hour drive to an away match in the freezing cold but after a rub down with some deep heat and a couple of mouth full’s of Chris Butlers alcoholic flask filled with home made go go juice we was warmed and ready to go.

The first half was under way and some savage tackles started to fly from the off, the first 35mins both teams were well matched and amazingly no one from ever side had been placed in the refs book even after a blatant stamp on the Shottermills centre mids head from Steven Coats didn’t produce a card, a loss of possession and a ball over the Lammas back four saw the Shottermill forwarded poke one in the bottom corner.
Lammas 1 – 0 down with 10mins left on the right hand side of the pitch with Dave Hills long throw to Peter Croutch I mean Crowder flicked on for Lee Digby who knocked past Shottermills sweeper and blasted the equalizer in the top corner 1 – 1 just before half time.

With no water AGAIN and just Chris’s Go Go Juice to drink most of us returned to the second half with a mouth like Gandeys Flip Flops.

The second half started the same as the first with a lot of stops n starts due to free kicks be given, great work from the Lammas back four and keeper saw Shottermill stopped several times unfortunately Lammas went 2 – 1 down with another goal from the Shottermills pony tailed forwarded (Prick). Lammas coming close with an equalizer when Lee Digby n Dave Hill both hit the wood work on separate occasions.
15 minutes left and the game was heated even more with threats from the ref to abandon the game due to a toe 2 toe quick jab in the face BANG from Dave Hill on the Shottermills winger still no cards were shown.
Lammas had a few more chances with Harry Penn, Steven Coates n Peter Croutch I mean Crowder but with none of the chances taken the fourths finished with a 2 – 1 loss after 5 wins.

Another cold wet and 50 thousand miles away to the ground for the fourths but all that aside 3points brought home.

We was down in the dumps before we started with no kit we all got changed into odds and sods John Strong had aged 9 – 10 years old shorts on and odd socks so we had a chuckle at his expense.

Away to Queen Street rangers a team made up off Frank Spencer’s, Mr Beans and Peter Crowder’s! So you can imagine what we were up against.

Dragged down to QSR’s level of football we were playing some of our worst football yet or it may have been the fact we have not played for four weeks together and been eating and drinking heavily over the Christmas break but no excuse will cover the fact that the majority of us were just Shit.

The first half Lammas through away several chances the game kept stopping and starting due to a stray dog trying to join in the game on the pitch and show us where we was going wrong.
QSR made a substitution just before half time and it turned out to be a good move as the player brought on scored, 1 – 0 down the half time whistle went.

For the first time this season we had water bottles at half time and not Chris Butlers Go Go Juice, Embarrassed of our first half performance the half time talk wasn’t much.

Second half started the same with lots of missed chances and the ref getting constant complaints about the Lammas’s P’s & Q’s!
Ten minutes left of the game and Lammas bring on the old faithful Chris Butler he had frozen feet and looked abit pissed from the night before but never the less he managed to make all the difference to the game as Lammas equalized when Dave Hill hit a 25 yard shot that was stopped by the bar Chris Butler managed to get a touch on the rebound and put the ball in the path of Lee Digby who placed an easy goal in the bottom corner 1 –1.
5 minutes to go and Lammas saved all embarrassment of losing with a big scramble in fount of Queen streets goal when Lee Digby took a long throw into the box 4 or 5 Lammas players desperately trying to score the winner finally came from Dave Hill smashing it as hard as he could from 2 yards 2 –1 to the Lammas thank god.

Lammas Forth Team at home to Woking

The game started with the Lammas players 5-minutes to slow, The first 30 minutes saw both teams evenly matched until Woking went 1 up, Lammas responded quickly with Andrew Short smashing a great long ranger in past the 7ft Woking keeper. Woking took centre and immediately attacked with another goal 2 – 1 to the away team just before half time.

Lammas surprisingly fired each other up at half time and returned to the second half abit more awake and determined, After ten minutes of the second half Lammas got a well deserved equalizer from the Old man at the back Colin Pratt with a Flying Header 2 – 2. This goal seemed to change the game and kick Lammas into a different gear with Dave Hill spotting the Woking keeper off his line hit a 20-yard shot curling over the lanky Woking keeper 3 – 2 Lammas.

It didn’t stop there the game was all Lammas creating lots of chances, The 4th goal came from Lee Digby belting a 25 yard shot in the top corner.

The 5th goal no one will believe unless you saw it with your own eyes, It came from a forward that has been on abit of a drought with no goals in 9 games, The famous Peter Crowder came on as substitute with 25 minutes to go found him self running towards goal, The Woking keeper made a grave mistake by leaving his line, Peter took his chance and took it well by lobbing a curling right footer hitting the far post and landing the ball in the back of the Woking Net 5 – 2 Lammas.

The game had about ten minutes to go and the majority of the Lammas players were starting to seas up after hitting 2nd gear for the first time this season but nether the less another goal was to come, The 6th goal some say was an OG some say it was Chris Butlers, I say we let Chris have it seen as the Man managed to play a full 90 minutes and that is a great achievement for any old piss head, I think he deserves it, final score 6 – 2 Lammas

Lammas at home to Guildford

Lammas required a win to put them in the top 3 in the league

The game started well with Lammas having most of the possession, after about 25 minutes Lammas took the lead when John Strong put a well weighted pass through a gap in the Guildford’s back four for Lee Digby to run on to and place it in the bottom left corner past the Guildford’s keeper 1 – 0 Lammas.
Just before the half time whistle went Dave the Big Man Hill wiped in a cross to the near post that saw Lee Digby jump with the Guildford’s keeper both colliding in mid air the ball went free for Chris Butler to out jump the Guildford’s centre back and header Lammas 2 – 0 up.

Half time and sprits were high as for once the fourths were cruising and not under pressure.

Second half was pretty evenly matched the Lammas back four was doing them justice keeping the Guildford’s forwarded away from The Player manager’s Mickey Frosts goal

Chris Butler was the first to go in a series of substitutes followed by Steven Coates and Lee Digby Giving the Hay brothers and Spencer Coles a run out. Great work from young Sammy Hay when he came on getting stuck into a few tackles and creating a couple of chances for the Lammas.
The game carried on pretty well matched until Guildford scored a consolation goal with about ten minutes to go! final score 2 – 1 Lammas.
