Mike Taylor has resigned from the Lammas reserves and we wish him luck in the future. But I would like to take this chance to put my name down for the job of Reserve team manager. My out look on the reserves is a lot different from others, although its great to see the reserves winning silverware, I believe seeing players progress from the reserves into a successfull first team is far more important, as the success of Staines Lammas F.C. is only measured by the success of our first team. I feel this year will be one of the most successful campaigns in our history as we have quality players through out our 4 teams. I know Mr wharf may have his own reserve team staff in mind, if he has I wish them all the success in the world, but if he hasn't then I would like the opportunity to manage the Reserves.

Phil Ellery.

P.s. Dont mean to jump in any bodies grave but pre season is not far off.

no great shock, an outsider looking in could see that he had trouble being involve in a club, may have been ok running a single pub side, but when it came to being part of a club he fell short, count how many players he encouraged to make the step up to the first team.

I've played under Mike for more than one team and I have to say a disrespectful comment like the one from Slugger leaves a bad taste for this club in my mouth. Do yourselves a favour and remove it, thank Mike for the hard work he has put in and wish him well for the future, like any other decent human beings would.

well at long last, someone that has an opinion, albeit an ex player that as he has said played under Mike at a number of teams, that was my point, a team not a CLUB, also you say you are a ex player, does that mean you are not going to the CLUB'S Presentation evening this Friday to see who has won the CLUB trophies, on the grapevine it is said that very few if any reserve team players are going any way, again proves a point that the reserves were not part of the club last season and that comes from the leadership of the team.
as for disrepectful comments you should wait until i have had a few beers and start saying what i really think, just ask any one from the CLUB, it's not pleasant and i am not popular, but thats my opinion and everyone should be able to have an opinion, does not mean you have to agree.

Mike IS a CLUB man!

I've played for Mike for a couple of CLUBS and never found him not to be a CLUB man, his record speaks for itself and the treatment he's received from Staines Lammas is no shock to me, it sums up the club. He cannot be blamed for players not wanting to play for the First Team, I speak to Reserves regulary and they have more of a problem with the First Team set up which is why they didn't want to step up. I was ALWAYS encouraged by Mike to play at the highest level possible.

Why dont you say who you are, mike was more interested in reserve team success then putting players up to the first team. No body is knocking what he achieved on the pitch cos at some points last season the reserves were playing some of their best football ever. Hence that was when I was playing but you do need to do more for a club then turn up on a saturday pick the side then piss off as soon as the match was over. I think you would find that Matt Woolly done a lot of work for the team last year. So I disagree with you and say that mike was not a Club man, a good manager but not a Club man.
