You have made some very valid points. This campaign is not aimed at reducing levels of recycling. I have been an avid supporter of recycling for more than 10 years. I regularly visit bottle banks, clothes re-use facilities and local tips with garden waste. I'm far from perfect but try my hardest!
I cannot compost kitchen waste because I have had rats in my garden - I regret not being able to do so. Recycling is all about education and councils appear to want to force people into complying by introducing fortnightly collections.
It is not about taking more to landfill/incineration but it should be taken more frequently. The temptation to contaminate recycling materials with general waste is too great for some householders and so complete lorry loads have to go to waste. This fact is not well-publicised but it is certainly a problem.
