but here's my view. Our family homeschools, or I should say unschools. Which means we avoid traditional academic instruction and practice child led learning. I believe it would be extremely damaging to put a child in a position where he is facing challenges that he is not ready to face. Especially a spirited child. If he's already trying to master frustration management and impulse control, I wouldn't want to add fuel to the fire. I think you should go with your gut feelings about the situation. I think his self esteem is much more at risk in a class where he is struggling to keep up than in one where he is older than the other kids. Just my two cents.
