We're not hill billies

As a longtime subscriber to The Record, I take offence to Frank Etherington's Dec. 27 article in regards to MP Paul Steckle's Christmas cards: Gun-toting MP Needs Shot Of Reality On Gun Deaths. Etherington refers to law-abiding Canadian firearms owners as hill billies. Most at rural farms and homes own one or more legal firearms. Does this make them all hill billies?
