GRANDE PRAIRIE COP CHARGED

RCMP have charged a member of their Grande Prairie detachment with
careless use of a firearm in connection with an incident near a Grande
Prairie hotel in May.

Mounties say the on-duty officer fired his pistol during a traffic stop
near the Super 8 on May 3.

The vehicle that had been stopped fled the area and was later found
abandoned.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Const. Mike Kindratsky, a 23-year veteran of the RCMP and a member of
the Grande Prairie RCMP Traffic Services Unit, is scheduled to appear in
Grande Prairie provincial court on Nov. 23.

Kindratsky is currently suspended from duty.
