VICTORY FOR OHIO GUN OWNERS . . . The Ohio Senate last week followed in the footsteps of the state House by voting to override Gov. Bob Taft's veto of legislation that will create statewide preemption regarding firearms laws and regulations. This action will ensure that municipalities cannot pass gun-control measures more stringent than that of the state. The bill will bring uniformity to Ohio's gun laws by preempting an estimated 80 local laws, including those restricting right-to-carry.
