Why is 113,000 law abiding citizens who have gone through an extensive background check

What should be startling is the number of rapists, drug dealers, murderers, armed robbers, and thugs walking our streets. The police do a great job trying to get these threats to public safety off the streets but most have an extensive criminal history of violence prior to their first arrest. Even when the law finally catches up with them the criminal justice system is flawed and routinely dishes out light sentences and puts them back on the streets. How often do you read in this publication about the police serving a warrant and arresting an individual on a drug charge who is out on bond or on probation from a previous felony arrest? It’s not the conceal carry permit holders out there selling drugs to your kids, breaking into your house, raping your daughter, or sticking a gun in the face of a gas station attendant. Criminals do not get conceal carry permits, do not get their guns legally, and do not care about the law. In general the police cannot protect you or your family and calling 911 when faced with a violent attack will only let the police know where to go to start their murder investigation. Now that the Stand Your Ground bill has passed the rights of the law abiding citizen have been expanded. It is about time the law abiding citizen has been given the ability to protect themselves and family from the predators in our society without fear of reprisal from a judicial system that values the rights of the criminals more than the rights of the victim. There may even come a day when you are grateful a conceal carry permit holder was in your mists.
