Over many years (starting 1972 ish) never saw many blades at football games, but did get slashed by Leeds in about 1973 at BBG and also seen Everton and Chelsea with stanley knives and came close a few times to getting a bad one, but tbh the worse mob were the old Punks and Teds and even a few of the original DLF who were part of the scene in town (Derby) early 80's. They did carry blades and I got close to getting a real slashing on more than one occasion. I'm not talking main firm DC's boys, but other hangers on, and I've been threatened more times by them as an older lad back then, than by any other mob or in games etc. Also lived in Chello for a while late 80's and tbh often went out at night with a flick knife myself just in case. Sad but necessary back then. Never used it but had a few drawn on me several times.
