A couple of ours (Pompey) carried much to the shame of the majority. There were a couple of occasions where we hit the headlines because of it. Away to Barnsley where we used to have it mental everytime we went there one guy got cut pretty badly a Pompey lad got three years for it although he was innocent of the crime. Another occasion was at home to Chelsea where two CFC were stabbed, although totally out of order maybe it was a case of the biter being bitten. It was a night game and Chelsea had to win to get promoted so thousands came down. In the afternoon a few of us gathered on the seafront and bumped into a mob we were outnumbered 4/5 to 1 so the thirty or so of us were soon on our toes. As we went around a bend in the road we came upon a building site as the headhunters came round we unleashed a volley of bricks momentarilly we backed them off but then it seemed like everyone of them pulled a blade of some discription (most likely on a few of them were tooled up but at the time it seemed like all of them)and we were back legging it.

While the scousers had the reputation for knives from experiance the top London clubs were as bad, West Ham, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Millwall all flashed steel around when we had it with them in the past.
