Well, I use 3D Studio MAX. I found it pretty easy to get used to, but I do have abnormally good spacial perception. You can buy this product at any high tech computer store (eg. a place where you might find SGI computers), but it comes with a pretty hefty price tag. If you're looking for a good, free program, I suggest you try POV-Ray, but I'd suggest you get the modeler, it'll prepair you for the bigger packages like 3DS MAX.
