she will be attending a DD program with the local school district. She'll start after the Christmas break. Unfortunately our local elementary is full, so I will have to drive her this semester to another one in the county, which is about 25 minutes away. Its a 4 day program, 4 hours a day. It seems like a lot for her right now, but I think once she settles in she will do great. She'll get speech (yeah, finally!) and OT there, and we will continue taking her to PT so we can keep her current therapist whom we absolutely love.
I know its the best thing for Kaelin to go, and I'm hoping she will blossom like Aaron did when he started preschool. That seems like a lifetime ago though, so if you guys don't mind, I may need to call on you for your thoughts. Even though she doesn't have T21 in some areas she is even more delayed than Aaron was. I pulled out his first preschool IEP to see about some ideas and I cried. Language-wise she is nowhere near where Aaron was. It makes me realize what a long road ahead of us we have with her...sigh. She is awesome though, just like he is
I'm also feeling a little sad that my last child will be going off to school and out of the house, ya know? Anyway, enough rambling this morning. I get to take her to the class next week and see how she likes it. I am looking forward to that too!
