However, I believe last years team took a giant step forward. There were not many nights when the team didn't come out energized, and ready to play. Sure the Eastern road swings hurt the team, and down the stretch, the basically sucked. BUT, for the most part, I believe last years team hit more, was better prepared, and simply brought a more energized game to the rink. I don't have seasons tickets, I work 2 jobs, and somehow manage to take my final few classes at UNBC, yet there were not many nights when I wasn't found at a Cougars home game last year. The year prior, I couldn't say that at all.
I think for the most part, we're all fans of hockey. But there is more to the experience then just watching the games. Just walking into the 'plex makes me that little bit happier. Mind you, most rinks do...it's probably the ammonia smell...but whatever...regardless, going to the rink to watch the game is just a part of the experience. I love taking my girlfriend with me and teach her more about the finer parts of the game, and I love meeting up between periods to talk about Hunters bonehead play, or the weak goal that Bowles let in...or even the horrid reffing.
All in all, I wish that maybe there were more out there that enjoyed the whole aspect of going to the rink on chilly nights.
And that's the end of my long winded, pretty much off topic rant....nothing to see here people...just keep on going...lol |
