Nobody has given the Gnats enough credit here. They are 25-0 in their last 25. They have 19 returned players, they had special instruction about the new rules (though they got busted many times last night anyways), they have had cohesion, and continuity in their organization for several years now. Too much panic going on at this point. We may have had the toughest 6 game starting schedule of ANY team in the dub and I will not cast any judgements until the firs 10 games have been played.
That being said, I get pretty miffed when the EFFORT is not there on ANY given night. I don't mind being beaten badly by a team like that, in fact I enjoyed watching the precision of the Gnats game, but constantly being beaten to the puck, constantly being out-battled in the corners and on the boards...these are issues of heart, and a work ethic, not skill, talent, or systems. Me thinks it could be a looong weekend for the boys.
