Response to apparently
talking to people I know who were either season ticket holders from the past or still attend games, is the differance in the atmosphere of the fans.
The first 5 or 6 years it seemed each section was almost a famaily, well the seats near you. There were alot of season ticket holders, 4500-5000 average for a while if I remember corectly. In our section it was the same people game in an game out for many years, you got to know your neighbors, you looked forward to not only seeing the games but also seeing your new freinds, there was a real kinship.
The last few years as attendance dropped I noticed that change. I would talk to people on the streets and they would say the same. They had season tickets, but few around them did, there was much more room so people spaced themselves out, moved around freely and soon you seldom knew the people next to you. I think that took alot out of the atmosphere
I remember almost avoiding the concorse during intermissions because it was so packed, but near the end it got almost lonely.
