Some very good hockey points have been brought up. Yes. lets stick to hockey on this board, leave the winning and BS for some other saps. I am also concerned for the lack vetern leadership on this team. We dreally don't have much to trade and we need to build from within. Yes, it is probably 2 years before we can honestly contend but as long as it is a growth season and we can see some results i am sure the faithful will follow. My concern with Bourke is his size. I a long season i don't know that 150 - 160 lbs can compete at a high level all year, who is going to protect him ?? We have some promising young talant, we will just have to see. We need a vetern on our back end in the worse way, hopefully we can convince someone to fill that role. Connolly will be back. I think he is the real deal but miised to much time this year. He needs to have a great season, lead by example, wear the "C" and show the NHL that he is ready before he can take the next step. If the big team that does draft him can't keep him, at his age, he must come back. Put yourself in the NHL teams position, would you sign him with the amount of games he missed ?? Lets not forget he is still young, what is the rush !! Our goaltending will be fine, Stremmel will lead and i think we can find a 18 year old to learn the ropes and back up. I honestly believe if we can get out of our own end next season we will start to see some rewards up front, but we can not always be on our heals and be playing from behind. Camp should be interesting.
