that it is far too early to be making any kind of a decision about the direction this team should go. It is junior hockey ... this bunch COULD form amazing chemistry and go on a run to get our first banner...or they could stumble along and be well below 0.500 on the season. What would you do in either case? If the first case were to happen, I would go with it. With a local superstar involved it would just be too great of an opportunity to re-build the fan base. I believe an excellent foundation has been drafted for the next 3-4 years already so I am not convinced we really NEED to trade Connolly. On the other hand, if we limp through this season and only look to "just make" the playoffs I would welcome a Connolly trade (and I am pretty sure he would as well) to a contender to gain another great young player and/or high draft picks (I am starting to believe much more in our ability to scout well).
Just more fuel for the fire
