For what it's worth...a very decisive, direction determining decision. We know he has value as a pretty good defensive forward. Willing to work hard, block shots, fight evey now and then, and even score 10-15? goals per year. NOT ENOUGH for a 19 year old roster spot on our team. Tough decision to let loose a pretty good utility player in the WHL. I would be shocked if he isn't snatched up pretty quickly. Now we'll be younger and those young guys will get the opportunity to earn even more playing time that should comes from freeing up a 19 year old spot. Definitely a departure from past thinking which simply can't be a bad thing...whether of not it turns out to be a GOOD thing is somehthing we will have to wait a while to determine; I like the different direction though. GOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGS!!! Is 3-0 too mucht to ask for against the Gnats?

I think this is a lot like the Thiessen trade, and I find it hard to criticize management for their decision here. People have been after them to be more professional as an organization. Now they've done exactly what a more "professional" organization would do. Sentiment doesn't get you anywhere, either you have the skill to contribute in the WHL or you don't. If not, it's not a personal slight both parties just need to move on. I think Jordie brought a lot of energy, but as an 18 year old last year was a healthy scratch more often than he should've been. If he's not going to play every game, then he may welcome a bigger role in Junior A with a little less pressure. He seemed like a pretty good kid, I hope things work out well for him.

well, anyone could pretty much see that one coming from a mile away..........hell, I don't even go to that many games and I was saying this since last year.

The one I don't understand is, why the hell are they holding on to Marcus Watson?.......let the guy go, he's going to be hurt for the next month or two and really doesn't offer that much otherwise and he adds to a list of too many 1989 born forwards.

Watson is in limbo until his injury is over.........They don't have to do anything with him until he is ready to come back.......when he is back in shape they will be able to see if he fits or has to move on......no reason to make that decision now
