Watched the Hitmen/Cougars game last night....
why is the #1 draft pick Forsberg, who has just come of an injury, paired with Senkerik??
It is almost as if the team and Clark dont want him to succeed...
Senkerik is now -14 in 15 games with Prince George so they think that the way to build
Forsberg is to pair him with a guy on pace for a -67 year and leave Gibb with Thiessen.
If you did not know better you would think that Gibb was the first round pick instead of Forsberg.
I wrote it before...I wonder how good Connolly would have been last year
if he were playing on a line without Tyrell and Viednesky and put on the 3rd and 4th line.
I wonder if he would have stayed? Just curious.....

Cripes the guy plays 1 season in the WHL and he's the second coming. If he can duplicate and more next year I'll be a believer in Connolly, until then it's just undeserved hype.

about Connolly for sure....but my concern is that the Cougs will lose Forsberg...if I was his agent I would seriously be questioning whether I would want him back in P.G. if Clark is going to do his best to keep him from succeeding. Jesse has not scored since last year and I dont think he has a point in the last 25 games. Given that Gibb is the chosen one I dont know why Forsberg would not force a trade.
Take a look at Keaton Ellerby under Deano......No score for this post

Ellerby hated Dean and couldn't stand him anymore and ended up demanding a trade cause he couldn't take it anymore. I never liked Keaton as a player, but he had all the potential to be alot better than he was under a real coach.

1) Gibb has proven himself big time over the last month+ and is the teams leading +/- over that time. Thiessen and he have been paired up to try and shut down the top offensice line for the opposition and have been doing an admirable job.
2) Forsberg has been injured for quite a while and before that he was obviously working on his defensive game (and that needed work). You don't put your best 16 year old prospect against the best lines the opposition has on a nightly basis...THAT would set him up for failure and would not build a lot of confidence.
3) Finally, Connolly did not play with Tyrell for most of the year...so now how do you explain his success? Look at what Viedensky did, or didn't do, over the time Connolly was out. Not only is Connolly a very, very good player, he made ANYONE that played with him, very much better. To call a player like him under-rated after what he has done at the international level and at this levelm at this age is something so stupid, only KBF could say it.
I think this is THE way to bring along a 16 year old potential stud defensman...on a team this poor, keep him away from the best on the other team most of the time. GOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOGS!!!!

your perception of reality and mine are diametrically opposed.
The proof will be what happens in the off season I guess. My bet is that Forsberg will not be a Cougar after the trade deadline next year and that there is no way the Cougars will ever get Alex Forsberg signed if they draft him.
I'LL TAKE THAT BET...No score for this post

You are correct...we have VERY different views on this subject. We will know before the trade deadline next year who is correct. My bet is that Both Forsbergs are here at the same time in a couple of years and PG will be doing well in the playoffs by then...next year should be close to a 0.500 year with a very young team again. At least we have tne nads to put on the line

You can't talk directly to me anymore? If you don't want to acknowledge me that's fine, please don't but don't sit there and talk around me and use my name in posts if you don't have the sack to talk to me.
Connolly HAS HAD 1 GOOD YEAR, AND THIS YEAR HE'S PROVEN NOTHING OTHER THAN HE'S GOT THE BODY OF A 75 YEAR OLD MAN WITH HIS BROKEN HIP.
That's funnyNo score for this post

There's sooo much hype about the kid, he has alot of talent for sure but he hasn't even played 2 years in the dub why don't we wait and see what happens after next year before touting him as the next Sidney Crosby.
And Stretch yes should of gotten 100 points last year and this year. But a more comparable player to Connolly in age and in skill would be Brendan Ranford who is on pace for over 70 points in his 17 year old season and very well should be a 90-100 point guy as a 19 year old. Funny the kid busts his ass off every game and is having the kind of season he is and never gets talked about by the media, but you have a guy like Connolly who has played 1 year in the dub even though the same age as Ranford and it's Connolly this and Connolly that. Just sayin it's BS, that's all.

What has connolly done on the international level? A good U17. 4th place finish at spring U18. And a gold medal in a 2nd rate U18 tournament that he didn't play in cause he was hurt. Not anything to really brag about unless I am missing something. Don't get me wrong I do think connolly is a great player but for a guy who hasn't played this year he is overhyped. All these other draft eligable players are playing their ass off to get noticed and he is still being rated on last years performance.
HE HAS PERFORMED...No score for this post

very well at the international level...the team's placement doesn't have much to do with his individual play. You made my point in your last point. Many, many talented, knowledgeable hockey people seem to think he is worth the risk of a very high draft position, DESPITE the fact he hasn't played for a year...doesn't that tell you something? You think NHL scouts and talent agencies get over-hyped by a player that doesn't play for a year? What are you nuts? These guys earn a real living getting paid to assess talent for the best teams in the world and you think they are all misguided about an "over-hyped" 17 year player from PG? Now we know you a VERY "healthy" ego

I know that Brett will laugh his ass off all the way to the bank. He doesn't give a damn what a bunch of so-called experts say on an internet forum. I'd be willing to bet he's more concerned about what NHL scouts have to say and last I checked he was pretty highly thought of.
