Shots on goal 49-15...with only 2 in the last period while playing from behind. Nothing like showing some heart for the home fans. If not for some decent saves could have been a double-digit loss. Way to treat your few remaining home fans to a total bedsh*ting against a .500 team.
Looking forward to seeing the positive spin O'Connor and COOGSUPERAN try to pull out of their arses for this latest lame excuse by a DT creation.

but it shouldn't surprise anyone that you would come here and puke negative despite not even being in attendance. To call a team of this age grouping and experience level an "abomination" only reinforces your already stellar ignorance and negativity level...again...certainly no shock to these readers. If you were there you might have noted that the game was not nearly as one sided as the shot clock indicated. No doubt we were out played (especially in the offensive finish department) but the compete level of this team was right there on both of these nights.
I think next year we will be a much tougher team overall and really be able to take the "legal" physicality (and "illegal" as well) to a much higher level than we have seen in many years...ie: we are going to be tough SOB's to play against.
Was really impressed with Grewal last night. He has "sprouted" dramatically even since camp and looked very comfortable and solid out there. McNulty also more than held his own in the last couple of nights. Of course they will make mistakes...they are not even regular members of this team yet...but all the real WHL experience they gain this year should pay off superior dividends next year when this team should be, has to be, better be...much improved.
It has been, and will continue to be entertaining to the hockey fan that can appreciate very young, over-matched hockey players develop character and attitude right before your very eyes. A player like Mykitiuk, while almost always over-matched physically, continues to battle with reckless abandon and ferociousness that belies his diminutive size. I picture him possibly becoming a very effective player like McColgan or Chikie in the future and am looking forward to him grow figuratively and physically this summer.
No harm no foul with the loss by the way...all the teams we are chasing lost too.

A couple of comments from a buddy at last nights game ................
1st thing he said, "I shoulda went to a movie"
2nd thing, "the announced crowd of 1857 could have fit in one endzone"
Needless to say he wasn't impressed. This was from a former season ticket holder of many years who ventured into the arena for the 1st time this season. I asked him how the atmosphere was, he only laughed.

living in the past never got anyone anywhere. If it was, as you mentioned, the first time he ventured into the rink this year and he is comparing it to some distant memory of "the good old day" then of course he would be disappointed...what did he expect? Knock down, shake down, scream your lungs out excitement?
The atmosphere is directly related to how you influence it and those in your immediate vicinity...sometimes those as far away as across the rink in some cases.
We had a great time on both nights and I guarantee you so did the 50' radius around us. Hockey, as in life, will always be what YOU make of it. That will probably explain a lot in your buddy's case...IN THE CASE.

Last place in the WHL. Probably last in the CHL....again.
Sorry Cougs, all this talk about a major rebuild finally is a bunch of crap. A proper rebuild would find your players spread over 3 birth years so you'd have a mix of 16,17,18 year olds. I see an over abundance of 16 years olds here which is never good. Fast forward 3 years and they will see the dilemma with a whole pile of 19 year olds and the ability to only keep 3 the next year...year 4 is the automatic rebuild again.
Just the idea that we've got all these 16 year olds, again are they franchise building blocks or are they just filling roster spots?
You need to get over the idea that everyone who is pissed off is stupid. You're clearly in the minority here.

You hit the nail on the head Smiley, to much of the same, reminds me of 3 or 4 years ago, when all we heard from the BIG FELLOW, was his singing the praises of Conally(great player), Bouna-alphabet, Hirsche, Gibb, Makin, Fraser, MacDonald etc.,didn't seam to work out to well....better luck this time, but, with more good young guys on the horizon, changes will likely have to be made, to get a little older

"W" column with this team this year then you are simply naive. All this year is about is getting very young, very inexperienced players a lot of quality minutes in this league so they can be a big step ahead of the growth curve of other teams at this age group. This is one way to rebuild a team that has been very successful in the past in other organizations and is a refreshing departure from every other year they have tried to rebuild here with players spread over 3 years. I look forward to watching to see if will yield a different end result. Will it be successful? No one can answer that for 2-3 more years. Take a look at ANY team that wins REALLY big in the playoffs...they are almost always very heavy to 19 year olds and very talented 18 year olds that possibly don't even play as 19's in this league. The most important games are still to come this year...of that there is no doubt...and I'll be there howling GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGS!!!

Been awhile since I looked at this board and when I read Superfans post I thought maybe I was reading a post from 10 years ago, because it was exactly the same crap. Young team, what do you expect, rebuilding, get them next year, great game, etc. etc. etc. He reminds me of a dog dumped in the country that sits at the side of the road and thinks every car is his owner coming back and will sit there until he starves to death. The Cougars WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO MUCH AS LONG AS THE SAME PEOPLE OWN THEM THAT HAVE ALWAYS OWNED THEM KEEP ON OWNING THEM. So at least admit you go because you like to go and you don't really expect much, hope for much. But to keep on believing one day a banner will be hung in the rafters is really quite sad. The Cougars aren't like your own children that you have to cheer for them no matter how much they suck, they're a team you paid money to watch, and if they suck, it's okay to say so.

I have said as much myself many times...you will NEVER see a post of mine that says I expect to see a banner based on what I have seen in the last decade and yet...they almost did it
didn't they? Which, by the way, is much closer than many teams have come in the last five years.
Do I understand the deficiencies present for the last decade+? Sure. Do I choose to dwell on them over and over like these others? Of course not...the difficiences are the same and they WILL NOT CHANGE...(unles Father Time eventually works his magic and the management team "learns" how to create a winner). I know, more than most IMO how that is simple truth...so are you going to whine incessantly like an innane bitch, or move on and just enjoy the hockey? You know my choice, and you know the choice of some of these others and we will alway be polar opposites when it comes to how we CHOOSE to discuss what is going on with the Cats.
I have always said/admitted I go to watch the best quality of live hockey this city will ever see. If the team I choose to cheer for "sucks", then I will still derive enjoyment watching a good team demolish them...are you a hockey fan or a winning team fan? Many here are simply adult children that get all pissy if they are not winning (as evidenced by when they actually post)...and that is fine...for them. I will always call them out on immature, childish name calling, behaviour, and attitude...just can't ever respect that when it involves the greatest team sport ever played IMO.
As ALWAYS...GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGS!!!

You like to blame everything on everyone else, your the man, your the better person, yada yada yada.
What you are is an enabler. You allow Brodsky to continue to provide an inept product and allow his useless son to remain as the manager.
Let me ask you this, with attendance sliding every year and no attempt at solving the teams problems, how long will the team really stay here?
Would it not be a better idea to make some noise, make Brodsky squirm and try to get something better happening.
What was there, 1600 or so the other night, and the trend continues, less and less fans. Kinda funny how the building used to be full and the place to be when the team had some positive direction, Now everything is negative, but you continue to support them.
Take your energy you expel screaming go cougs, and spend some screaming Get rid of Dallas! If you continue to accept inept, you will always get inept.
YOU ARE SO STUPID IT'S AMAZING...No score for this post

even though you think you know the problem you think you can continue bashing your head against the wall over and over again thinking you might make some/any progress.
For the UPTEENTH time you IDIOT...Brodsky doesn't give a @%#@! AND ... he doesn't need the money. What he (and most Dad's in his defense) wants to do is keep his family taken care of and have fun playing hockey owner. "Making noise did, is, and will always fall on completely deaf ears in this case...if you don't know that by now you must be truly border line mentally handicapped...seriously.
He ran the attendance down to sub-1000 in Victoria before he moved and PG will never get that bad (IMO)
Who cares if the team leaves? That would probably be the best case for idiots like you. Within some time frame we would see a team back here with new ownership (ideally local) anyway...and if not...oh well, c'mon, you don't even go anymore so why do you even care? You are so full of it ... it is truly astounding.
BTW "everything" is NOT negative in many people's minds...just you and your elite group of know-it-alls. We have the best group of 16's (IMO)in the organization's history and probably the WHL...that will be exciting to observe for the next 2 years at least because it is a completely different, unique, refreshing change that this organization has never attempted to do here. We will see if the coaching staff can do something with them as it is (or truly should be) out of the GM's hand at this time. Looking forward to seeing this great group of kids develop into something better than we have seen in the past.

I take it back. Fair enough - you'd rather have the Brodsky brand of WHL than none at all. Can't argue with that. It seems like you have blinders on when it comes to this team, but maybe that's how you cope with them, and who am I to judge. I gave up after ten seasons. Carry on Superfan - but I hope some day you get a big screen TV, Sportsnet, and become a Canucks fan, because honestly, the Cougars don't deserve loyalty like yours.

Let me guess, everybody in your house gets a participation ribbon for getting out of bed in the morning. Yeah, participation is more important than winning. Thats why we have things like playoffs, halls of fame, programs of excellence, Stanley Cups and Super Bowls. So the participants can get a ribbon.
If you enjoy being the joke of the league, it really makes me wonder how you do in real life. But hey, if it makes you feel better to try and call me down to compensate for your lack of success, best of luck to you.

Keep on crying little girl, some of your buddies will share their kleenex's with you as you all pout about how Rick has destroyed your, and everyone else's, lives single handedly. By the way, you missed watching the best team to play in the CN Center this year...guess what? it wasn't the Cougars...oh well...I am sure you can come up with something to whine even more about now...keep on snivellin' Pucks...it amuses me so.

I missed the best team to play in CN Center this year? Yeah I bet that was more entertaining than the sledding and bonfire we and 5 other families spent the evening doing. Yeah, I would have been better off spending the afternoon and evening watching the local team get shut out once again, much better off than spending quality time with the family and friends.

The last time you felt so compelled to defend yourself we got to hear about what a stellar business man you are...right down to the number of employees that depend upon you for their very existence...You should be proud to brag so obviously...to puff out your chest like a mating grouse, to prance and kaw like a peacock...yes...without a doubt...YOU THE MAN!
Unfortunately, the "man" that cries like a new born (not for any serious reason) at a recreational activity that, by all self reports, you have shunned for years now. What a seriously conflicted individual you are...again, a very entertaining study.
