Arena follows Pete Doherty and his band Babyshambles over the last six months. The story started with a night in his flat listening to Hancock's Half Hour, followed by a tour of the UK, then Europe, the recording of an EP, Doherty entering The Priory and eventually postponing the second leg of a British tour in an attempt to tackle his drug addiction.
With access that included filming with his son and interviews with close friends, the film also features intimate conversations with Doherty himself.
All the music in the film is either from live gigs or from Babyshambles, The Internet Sessions, recorded in a basic studio and released free to the fans on the internet. The music featured ranges from Pete Doherty's own and Libertines/Babyshambles material to versions of Dirty Old Town, (with Shane McGowan), The Clash's Janie Jones, The La's Son of a Gun and Radiohead's High and Dry. This programme contains very strong language. [S]
