Hmm perhaps the idea of people having a hero and/or someone to look upto frightens you. To think people may never look upto you in such a way. Yes Pete may do drugs but is that really that bad, so do a lot of other people, but Pete has helped inspire a tremendous amount of young people to write poetry and to express themselves in a more artistic way than going out on a night and drinking cheap cider bought from the local shop and then shouting at passers by who look at them.
Also as mentioned before considering you may be of the chav 'hard man' nature i would like to remind you that a lot of your fellow comrades do drugs themselves, if you went out into town on a weekend and went into a 'power houses' as you call them im sure you would find plenty of people 'popping an E'. So maybe this makes you a hypocrite? I don't know what you do in your spare time and i surely would not like to know as each and every person is entitled to their own personal life. I sort of agree with whathisname that posted this but in a nicer way. Pete Doherty is a fantastic song writer and is a talented guy but my god, he is a waste of space.
Alot of people take drugs, yeah fair enough, i'm no angel myself but really, he is the scum of society. He really is pathetic, he's had the chance of the best help in the world but does he give it a proper effort ? No, poor little pete usually packs it in after a few days.
It comes across that he doesnt want to get clean, he seems to be quite happy being a junkie. It just makes me mad when there are people desperate for rehab places and cant get them and poor little pete just pisses his chances up the wall, just like his talent !!!
He can afford his drug habit just now but what happens when the fame goes and so do his loyal fans ? Will you still look up to him when he mugs your mum for smack / crack money ?

Did you see Pete at Glasto. Either on the other stage or in the park. You have to love him just the way he is, on occassion I've had to excuse him. At Glasto he was amazing. You have the right to your opinion but I think few would agree. x

Probably not ! I've watched one of my friends go through that and believe me its not nice. it's very fucking hard to watch someone who like Pete, comes from a good family, end up like that.
You know whats even harder ? Every time i want to speak to him, i have to visit his grave.

We all used to go out clubbing, taking pils, coke and stuff but Chris started smoking heroin. A few years on he was insisting that he wouldn't jag it, all this time he kept his job up and didn't look too bad, still bought expensive clothes ect. His mum used to check him for needle marks and stuff and never found any.
But addicts are good bloody liars, he was jagging between his fingers and toes so no-one could find track marks.
Our mutual friend who Chris eventually moved in with found him dead in his bedroom.

To see someone so amazing as my mate Chris who had such an amazing life go downhill and then eventually taken from us was horrible. And i just see Pete doing the same thing. I liked the libertines and some of Pete's stuff is good, i'm not a huge fan, but the guy has a great talent and its sad to see him pissing it away.
As for me, ive never touched heroin or crack and never will but i do indulge in a bit of coke and speed one night a week which is nothing compared to what i used to indulge in.
I'm old , 32, so when i was 17 the rave scene was here and it used to be E's, acid, speed, coke etc all weekend, thankfully, The Verve and Oasis came along and pulled me out of that awful world of rave music !!!
Never confuse the art with the artist. Pete can be two things at once, a junkie low life and a good songwriter. The two have no relationship. I dont think its healthy to idolise anyone, and its ceratinly never wise to expect other people to fill the void in you. I dont mean to sound patronising but sometimes the younger you are the more you need the idea of someone/something to fill the holes in your own developing personality, to give you a place, a purpose or some kind of meaning. Life is never black and white, so don't paint yourself into a corner.

it was a friend when he was up my house, thought he'd create an account and start taking the piss (i know child), he just told me about it the other day when we were in the pub, so ill apologise for that idiot if it caused(and clearlly has) some offence to people.
my own view on pete is he fuckin it all up for his self i only hope he see's sense soon for his own sake, i do like pete and some times i wish he would just get the jail sentence and maybe just maybe it might be the start of the pete we all know he can be and im sure he prob thinks the same but as i said he's fuckin it all up and hes the only one who can change it.
for me the t in the park was pretty poor wasnt the "worst gig ive been to" as said in the 1st post , but id put that down to the sound it was on off then back on for fuck sake the sound completely went off for about 2 mins at 1 point.
