i don't usually post on message boards but felt like lettin a bit of steam off after the MEN gig, i'm so angry after that performance.
I thought the performance was absolutely terrible. This is the first time i've seen them without Pat (seen them 4 times previously with him which was among the best gigs of my life!) and i thought musically they were not upto scratch. Pete tries his hardest to keep it ticking along with a guitar round his neck (because i don't think he can rely on this Mick to deal with the songs, especially off the 1st album, pipedown was a woeful attempt and he couldn't even do killamangiro which isn't hard to play!) which is more like a noose.
I think the 2nd album is alright but for me Babyshambles was all about being noisy, loose and unpredicatable in the 1st place, it doesn't work without the talents of pat in my opinion.
For me Petes got two decisions, get Pat back (if this is possible, don't know how he's holding up at the mo) or get the libertines/carl back together cos the way i see it Babyshambles have lost their verve and are just a 2nd rate libertines live at the moment.
I don't pretend to be an expert in the soap opera that is shambles but all i know is that the previous 4 times were the most exciting gigs i've been to and this was like a poor covers band doing fuck forever etc.
