resistance. In your example resistance is supplied by the floor.
Take a well oiled threaded bolt with a nut screwed on the end of it.
Lay the nut end on a table and turn the bolt. The bolt turns but the nut
doesn't. That seems to support your example. Now raise the nut off the
table and turn the bolt and the nut urns with it, whether it wants to
or not. That seems to support my example.
I am not at all convinced by your argument and in fact I am more entrenched
in my own opinion than ever.
