      Duke,
Do you detect any forward hip movement in Richard's backswing. The sequence of three still pictures with the post behind Mindy clearly show that he had a forward hip shift in his backswing. I have been trying to achieve this in order to eliminate any hip sway I may have. I start my backswing by moving my lead knee toward the ball and simultaneously and intentionally shifting my hips toward the target. It's not an ingrained movement for me--I have to think about it to make it happen. My goal is for the knee movement to trigger an automatic forward hip shift.

Re slow backswing. I would almost go along with Bobby Jones' observation that "You cannot backswing too slowly." Counterintuitively, a slower backswing results in a faster downswing. Actually, another goal of mine is to eliminate the first part of the backswing. Jim
