Actually, there is no Holmes' update If anything, I still a Stack and Tilter. The only connection to Holmes' is that I'm using a Cobra 454 driver - the kind he used to play. It has a stock Mitsubishi 45 gram shaft, which is probably about as light a shaft as is being made. Picked it up on ebay and think it is a great driver.
With the driver my practice swing is to stand straight up and slowly turn my shoulders as far as possible;and, try to get another inch of turn with the right shoulder. Then swing on the horizontal plane. This attempt at another inch of turn helps slow down the transition when you actually do swing. Most of the time my shoulder turn will be too short and fast, unless I focus on making a full turn. The result is that I'm hitting the driver about as far as I can for my age, etc.
During the real swing, I try to straighten the left leg and release the clubhead at impact.
Finally, the real key for me,especially with the irons, is to feel I'm "swinging out" toward right field.
