I've added the ability to add smiley/emoticons to your message. Tell me if you think this is a good idea for our forum,please. You will ONLY see the smiley icons when you POST or REPLY to a message. To insert one,just click on the one you want and it will appear as the URL next to your message;easy eh? Make sure there is at least one space between your last work and where you insert the smiley icon. Finally,use the Preview button before you post your message,to see if all is working properly. I don't know the 'easy' way to switch to the thread view but if you look at the URL for any of the pages in the forum you'll see "message" in the URL. Change "message" to "thread" and you'll have the thread view. Note that with the thread view you loose the ordering so you will not be able to see to whom a response was directed.

in the Button Labels section there is a box for View Thread. Enter the words you want (View entire thread, View all, Massive timesaver, or whatever) in that box and it will appear as a small link at the top of the threads on your forum.

SD: I thought this was supposed to be a serious exchange of ideas for those who are singlemindedly pursuing the difficult goal of achieving a fine golf swing. This emoticon thing reduces the discussion to the level of triviality and superficiality. I for one am outraged.
