Looking at photos of Maurice using a rubber strap in the photo album, I began to wonder what the exercise would feel like. My initial thought was that, with the end of the thera-band strap in the hands, it would encourage pulling through with the arms, rather than allowing the legs to do all the work. Maybe that's the underlying idea, ie, being sorely tempted to pull with the arms, one must resist that temptation and pull only with the legs. Richard and Maurice please comment. Has anyone bought a thera-band strap and tried this? SD
You've got it, Jim. It's a question of reminding the legs that they are in control and resisting the drive with the arms. I perform the exercise every morning for some 5-10 minutes. It's quite tiring but good for the muscle memory. Can't wait for the season to commence.
