Hall of Darkness Tournament

The Hall of Darkness - Games of a most macabre nature are underway, as some of the East's most famous and notorious families present their sponsored war machines in the Grand Melee, the opening spectacle at the HOD's Tournament of Arms.

Predictably, Venway's own Cypress Dreadslay has already made an alliance with the visiting Godslayer House, and the two rivals now look to dominate the games. However, they are opposed by an alliance of houses hailing almost exclusively from The Castle - a stronghold not at all known for being traditionally benevolent to the Dreadslay family.

Rumors that Archos' Queen, Edain of Foculth, ordered a nearby town to be attacked by her own forces, which are assisting of the Godslayer-Dreadslay camps have gone unanswered.

Cypress Dreadslay and the Mutiny Alliance are scheduled to meet Castle warlord Eochain Leshii in the Grand Melee soon. A victory celebration in Venway is already being planned.

In support of Cypress, Vennish Prime Minister Matthew Van Dresden and his family have traveled to the Hall of Darkness to observe the games first-hand. The Prime Minister has asked that all Vennish citizens who are able make the trip to the Hall of Darkness to support the Mutiny Alliance.

News of the games have brought protest from Venway's leftist Socialist Party - calling the Tournament an atrocity and a callous and sadistic game being played by the cynnical elite at the expense of the common people. They point to the segregation of aristocracy from peasantry amongst the locals as evidence. Accusations have been made against Van Dresden that the Prime Minister and Cypress Dreadslay are using state money to pay for their expenses at the games.
