I am really in need of putting people into the Realm. I need parts, players, people, anyone, anything you can come up with off the top of your head. The Realm is a Horizon Realm and what not but with its current situation of having ZERO people coming in save me and a select few, I am going to offer this as a sort of compromise of sorts because I'm not in a position to argue a hell of a lot (save the fact that the Sabbat or Nephandi wouldn't be caught dead in there for the "anti-evil" policies held there -lol-).
A lot of us are into various types of roleplaying storylines, be it romance storylines, drama, horror, intrigue, mystery, paranoia, questing, fantasy, etc.
And from what I have seen is a description of a true WoD storyline setting. And I will point out that not every roleplayer is accustomed to that or comfortable with it. Some of us do like storylines where we chill out and just have some regular good clean fun that doesn't involve our characters getting shot at or killing people or having to watch their backs not knowing which psychopath is gonna gun at them. Frankly in my opinion, powerplayers kinda killed it for me with characters that ran about killing things just because they were there and had no real IC reason behind their attacks, save "a short fuse". That itself gets old. VERY quick. Used to play Kurobikari that way a couple years back until I got bored with it. -lol-
So I was thinking maybe of setting up the Realm to be a place for that since the Mages and overall society there would fall under the fantasy type of roleplaying. There would be the romance storylines, the comedy, the mystery and all that. Sure there is possibility of that in the Ship's storyline suggested by Chris. But what I'm trying to create here...-trying to find the words for it-
I am trying to create a more peaceful place for times when we really don't feel like sitting out with dice in hand and what not. Just a place to chill out and relax for once, in character. And to take a break from the usual stories of violence and political powerplays and corrupt law enforcement, etc.
Although there might be some political powerplay storylines in the Realm given to a degree. It won't be some Green Acres type setting. That would be very drab I think. But that is just my opinion. Sure the occassional skirmish, but nothing on the level of "Warlock Order declares war on MA" type stuff.
I dunno if this makes any sense or not...but basically I'm just trying to get people into my Realm room too. I mean for those who enjoy this style of roleplaying is cool, but if they want to explore other types that the Ship does not offer, well, the Realm would be the place to go. And vice versa.
But I can't do this alone. I need suggestions, questions, character concepts, anything you guys can offer me to help create a better Realm room. The quality of roleplaying you get as said in many core books of White Wolf games, is dependent on both the StoryTeller and the players. In our case it would be the players and the scene setters.
Without one the other can't do its job. The players need to give their Storytellers/scene setters some feedback. And the Storytellers/scene setters have to do their best to set it up accordingly and take it from there.
But it's up to the players to keep coming back for more and letting the Storytellers/scene setters know what they like and don't like as they go along. This not only improves the Storyteller's abilities to set the scene, but it also improves the quality of roleplaying.
BTW, if any of you have questions, go to my board and ask away.

BTW, I do support the Ship being restored and what not but I also realize that the Realm room being filled is also important too.
If you guys need info on the Realm itself, I'm working on it. I've got the page set up for it already.

I've got the more "crunchy" aspects of the Realm down on paper but it'll be posted on the web hopefully in the next couple of weeks, give or take how school gets. -l-
