Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean
11:30 PM
The rusted, steel workings of the Dreadnought grudgingly creaked with the waves patterns of the dark ocean. The World War I battleship had been revived in a week’s time: outfitted with new magical weaponry and made sea-worthy. The entire vessel only seemed to lack a paintjob now. Ethan stood in the middle of the bridge, with his icy gaze searching across the water. His smile was frigid as he focused on the radioman that had just handed him off a stack of reports.
…Thank you
As Ethan looked through the pages of reports, the radioman spoke up, after a brief pause. The young man appeared to be in his late twenties—and had probably first began to serve the revolutionary group as some street thug as an early teenager.
The Warlock Order bombers are in Venway. I don’t have much on it. These are just early accounts.
He already knew before the words were spoken. The Warlock Order. A bombing, an attack, something was expected of the hated faction, for things had been relatively quiet for the past week. Ethan gave a small, impassive nod and returned the papers.
I see. Our units, whatever is still there, should keep distance from shore. I want anti-aircraft fire too. Have them shoot all night if they have to. I want to hit something. Raiders are to snatch anything they can find around the harbor. By the end of the night, have our ships relocate west of the city. Behind the barrier islands there, the shallow waters should provide adequate protection from submarines.
The radioman slowly began his way out, but then turns.
Is there anything else?
At times, formalities became an annoyance. His expression drops as he finds himself a seat, smugly leaning back in the chair. Ethan takes his time about answering and without giving the man another glance.
No. Get out of my face.
The radioman disappeared. Would the Warlock Order? Only time would tell. Ethan stares off into the dark-abyss over the horizon as the ship makes its way toward Venway.
Venway Harbor
The first few seconds had been vital. Within moments little under half of the Mutiny Alliance Navy had been sunken and pushed to the shadowy depths beneath the surface. Gunboats crews began to rush aboard their ships amongst the burning piers and surrounding warehouses.
Mid-way through the night, the remaining crusairs navigate their way through timbers and sinking ships into the middle of the harbor. There, a silhouette forms around the boats as they come into an arc formation 900 yards from shore. Artillery began to open fire on the unseen enemy, sending a mired display of fireballs into the black, cloudless skies above. Mutiny Alliance gunboats, designed for speed, had few anti-aircraft weapons, making most of their attempts in desperation.
Sections of Venway became a looter’s playground. In the downtown area alone, angry thugs smash through store windows and begin grabbing television sets and stereo equipment from display cases. Mutiny Alliance raiders, took advantage of the chaotic opportunity. Their teams salvage anything left afloat on the shoreline. Dozens of speedboats and sailing ships are hijacked and sailed off out of the area.
As the night is brought to an end, the remainder of the Mutiny Alliance Navy limps to the opposite end of the island.
((Chris, rather than having the WO order attack naval things at Odindust, I changed it to Venway. Because Ethan is just sort of patrolling the Odindust area, stealing ships and sending them back to the Ghost Ship. If the Order bombed Odindust, it wouldn't do any damage to the navy. I hope that's cool just to say they took out factories and stuff in Venway....-shrugs-)
