They were stationed far enough away yes, at least for siege purposes. away from ground fire, but the hill itself is within range of artillery. they're not within ground range. and the position does allow for a view of the lower lands. but again, artillery range, even for 1940's techknowledgy, is significant. enough so that they could hit archos's current position.
for all the good it will do them. remember, archos divided his camp significantly. the casualties are likely to be exceedingly low. | |
