You're scaring me with "im just bringing myself rice noodles and soup mix"!
Paddling is hard work, and doing anything will burn a lot of energy if the weather goes for a crap. I generally plan on 2000-2500 calories and 2-4l of water a day,depending on what I'm doing and what the conditions are like.
I also bring an extra day's supply "just in case"
Relying on fish to round out your diet is a bad idea as even experienced anglers get skunked quite often.
