Breakfast at the Portage Store Restaurant

Things have prevented us from getting into the park this year... so we decided to head over to Canoe Lake for breakfast. T had never seen the Canoe Lake traffic.. she was heard to say rings like "this is a part of Canoeing I've never seen before. We saw some newbies dump trying to get into the boat. No pictures of that so you'll just have to imagine it... for those of you who've been there, here's some memories for you. For those who haven't... this is what it's like.

The parking to.... full to capacity. At Opeongo, cars were parked up the side of the road.



Then you get your gear rented.





Then it takes a while to get organized.



OK, almost ready to go...





And they're off...





All these people coming up to get away.. and we're doing the Toronto experience. Parking lots full of cars, stores full of people.. shopping the sales and getting some great deals at Algonquin Outfitters..

The only sad thing is now we're back home and all the people we took pictures of are out enjoying the park... we get to go soon... it can't come soon enough.
